The Company and Legal Framework

The Company is fully independent, not affiliated to, financed or supported by any organisation of any kind. The Company is currently located in the European Union and all hosting infrastructure is located in countries of the European Union and thus governed by the laws and regulations of the respective countries.

The Company solely provides the Service and does not have the obligation nor can it be compelled to build in or provide technical means to intercept customer communications.

Data related to the opening of an account

Personal data, or alternative contact data, is not required when opening an account. The password you choose when you create your account, is never transmitted to our or any other servers or services.

Since we have no contact data, communication with us is only possible as long as you have a CypherMessage WebMail account. If you forget or misplace your password, you will no longer be able to communicate with us and you will not be able to recover any messages from your account.

Data Collection

We collect as little information as possible to ensure a private and anonymous user experience. We have no technical means to access your encrypted message contents. The security of your encrypted messages depends solely on your password and on keeping the password secret.

All servers used in connection with the provisioning of the Service are wholly owned and operated by the Company. Account messages, all sent, received, saved, draft and trash messages with their headers, are always stored in a fully encrypted format. We do not have the ability to decrypt any user encrypted message on the servers.

Data of closed accounts is immediately deleted from production servers. Active accounts will have data retained indefinitely.

If we receive an enforceable court order, we can only disclose encrypted data.

Modifications to Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to change this policy. Usage of the Service after changes will be deemed as acceptance of the changes.
